Window Trouble
Window Trouble
I recently bought a 93 maxima se for my first car and after a few months the drivers' side window button quit working. So i tried to fix this by taking my entire door panel apart and i found out that i'm making a connection and the problem has to be inside the door either the window motor or something else.
Any advise on what the problem could be or where to find a cheap window motor, ( the dealership will charge $200-$300 for part and install), will be appreciated!
Thanks!

chances are that your window regulator is bad, check out my page www.geocities.com/craigbrace for more info on fixing/diagnosing it

yeah, its most likely the regulator. that is the most common problem with the windows. press the button and listen for the motor to make a noise. if it does make a noise then your regulator is bad. if it doesn't make a noise then most likely the contacts would need to be cleaned. for that you would have to take apart the buttons and clean the copper contacts with electric contact cleaner or just lightly sand it to get the copper color back. i'm betting its the regulator though.
