My '94 has rough idleing, hesitation, and it surges when I hold the throttle still. At the same time the temp gauge stoped working. I didn't think much about it until the temp gauge started working for a little while one day and the car started running fine. I can't seem to get it to throw a code and I've checked the temperature sending unit but not sure if it was bad 'cause I didn't know exactly how to check it. I disconnected it and the check engine light came on. Can anyone help with this.

My temp gauge does the same thing, and I took it to the dealer and he showed me that water can leak into that wire that measures the temperature of the engine and rust it out causing it to break and work sometimes and not others. He said after the damage is done you're basically screwed. I just leave it the **** alone.
