We goofed: Urgent help needed!

Mrgone and I were installing my STS from James92SE (fast shipment, will buy again A++++++ ) and uhh... well, we (ahem MrGone ahem) busted that rubber chunk that acts as the pivot for the shifter...

but yeah, my car cant move and I need to be at work tomorrow. Shawn's going to Home depot right now to pick up some ghetto rig sheetmetal that'll kinda act as a support until i can either:

a) get a new (used) shift cradle from a gracious .org'er PIF (Pay it Forward)?

or

b) get bent over by the dealer.

***********
Whoever offers to PIF will get a quart jar (hopefully. if my dad's a ****, a pint will have to do) of Uncle Skeeter's BBQ sauce. Homemade by my mom and a secret recipe to boot! worthy indeed. I wish I had more to give, but it's all i can do
***********

I'm dead serious about this guys... I need your help. Jeffy: we tried calling, but we figured it was a nogo since you helped out whats-his-face with the 5-sp swap... If anyone local (Western Washington) can do it, even better.

PLEASE!

How much does the dealership want for one? It doesn't seem like it would be that bad.

If you decide to go the glue route, only JB Weld will do...

me no has JB weld.

we went to his house and got some wierd epoxy type stuff called quiksteel.

I made 2 little cross support bars out of aluminum, master fabricator y0!!!111//oneoneone

Now I'm just waiting on him to get the Shifter back together. When I got mine Jeffro already had it all put together so I just had to unbolt mine and put his in. (thanks jeffy ).

it was supposed to be a 45min thing, not a few hour thing

all fixed
I think its stronger than before, which brings up a new "mod"

actually i'm kind of surprised nissan designed it the way they did. Instead of putting a metal bar then a rubber bushing and bolt they made a rubber bar and then a metal sleeve and bolt (in our case the bolt rusted to the sleeve and when I was loosening it... kabaam, the 15 year old rubber cracked and broke).

I dont think its prone to breaking, but since the bolt was rusted to teh metal sleeve, and i was unbolting it from the top..... (bottom = nut, but it was dark and i wasnt thinking about it).

either way the rubber was kind of brittle.

acualy it is prone to breaking because when me and my friend were doing his 5spd swap we had to go to a different junk yard to get that piece because both of the 5spd 3rd gen in the junk yard where we got the tranny had the same part broke. proboly the people thought the tranny went out and junked the car because nether were wrecked and we know the vg didnt die

we went to the dealer and it was about 45$ for a new one
