Look at this image. Near the top of the picture where the metal piece is sticking out, in the background there looks to be a cracked hole in my cylinder head. I think I am losing pressure from there, it feels like when you let the clutch out too soon, and the engine chuggs. Do I need a new cylinder head or have my engine replaced?

unno looks alittle to blury for me to tell but it seems that if it was a crack that u were loosing pressure from that there would be either gas/oil/antifreeze bilowing from it. I would check your compression before you do anything drastic

you can just have your head fixed or replaced if that is the problem. First I would suggest having a compression test done. The picture is a little to small to see much in detail. If I'm not mistaking you would more than likely have an oil leak right there depending on where at in the head it happened.

if i'm looking at the right part it just looks like the normal casting junk that sticks out.

if it were cracked there oil would leak out. that is very close to the top of the head where the oil is. you wouldn't be leaking cylinder pressure out of that unless it cracked all of the way to the block and had enough gap to let pressure leak out of the cylinder. i don't think that would be very likely unless something hit the heads hard, the heads were dropped if they were ever out previously, or some other insane thing.
