Temp gauge

first off, if it wasn't for this forum, i wouldn't be able to replace my gauge and fix the clock, this site rocks!

now the problem, the temp gauge keeps dropping below the "C" marking, this has been happening even with the original gauges in place.

while driving, it will work normally for about 20 mins then just drops. sometimes it will function normally again, or it will remain dead during the rest of the drive.

what else can I check to fix this problem????

thx

check the sensor? it's on the water inlet by the upper radiator hose. one wire...black boot on it. wiggle it and see if the gauge comes back on.

I had that problem and it turned out that the connector was so corroded that it fell off when i wiggled it.
