Warspeed Y-Pipe

Hi Guys,

I have to replace my y-pipe -- the flex is broken. There is a group deal going on at WS, and I'm thinking of taking advantage of it.

What are your impressions about the WS Y-pipe? Is it compatible with our model - 91 GXE ?

Are there any issues i have to guard against?

And what about the exhaust noice -- is it noticeably louder...since i like the one the stock produces?

For 160 shipped, it is quite a good deal !

thanks.. Noela

It's a tad louder than stock, but not much. Warpspeed is great to work with and makes a good product. it may take you a little while to get it because of all the group deals on them currently but when you do, you'll be happy with it.

I put one on my VE a few months ago and I didn't notice much of a difference in exhaust noise. I could definitely feel a difference in power though

Y with stock exhaust. Nice growl and quiet

Y with aftermarket exhaust = pretty loud

Y with aftermarket exhaust with 2000+ maxima muffler = perfect

I have a 91 GXE that supposedly has a WSP Y-pipe on it but I don't know how to visually tell. What should I look for to be certain, since I might be parting my car out or selling it?

I agree i have the SS ypipe and im pretty happy with it. It does give it a little more growl, but i also had other mods to the exuast at that point. You will be happy with the product.

Here is a pic I had on my computer... the top Ypipe is the stock one. The bottom one is an aftermarket one that will look almost identical to WSP's Ypipe.

would it be a good decision to just get the y-pipe and put on the 2000+ exhaust from the cat-back?

anyone else notice you can cruise at say 75 mph @ 3k rpm and after the Y install at 75 its only at 2.8k rpm? Is that pretty normal?

y is that maybe more air is leaving thru the exhaust..does ur car idle the same..any vibration..power come w. a price,u should be able to get more power now thru the rpm's power band then.

Well it's stick. I have no hard proof for it, but it is seriously lower. When I go home on the interstate I always set my cruise at 3k rpm....which was 75 mph. Ever since I put my Y on when I set it 3k I am running ~77-78 mph.

I have no idea why this is and can't explain it. I have the same tires and sme set up as before except for the WSP Y. Who knows.

well while the site was down i got my y pipe.the reason for doing this is like others i smelled the fumes and had heat coming from the shifter.the noise got loud *** hell.1st i thought it was the flex..then the bad news came about the y..well ok..then he stated that the bolts and rear gaskets were bad..well ok..then as a tech i said how much..426..i got the y pipe, new o2,gaskets,all new bolts, plus labor for that price..i trust this guy and he showed me all the old parts.did u solve ur heat problem yet?could it be the manifold bolts?holla back
