Just installed struts and springs... awesome!
Hi guys!
I just replaced my front struts (KYB GR-2's) and swapped out my old GXE springs with some used SE springs... all I gotta say is AWESOME! Also put in new strut mounts and boots.
With 168k miles on the clock, it was definately time for an update. Since moving down to Georgia a few months ago, I definately needed it! (as Illinois is just a series of straightaways and 90 degree turns, LOL!). Lots of twists and turns down here... almost got to be a safety issue (atleast that is how I part justified the expense).
Impressions? MUCH better than before! Of course, without giving the same treatment to the rear, its hard to say how much better it would/could/will be once I replace the rear struts and springs, but so far I have been very pleased with the results. The car has a much sharper turn-in, body roll has been reduced (still not exactly flat, but whatdja expect???)
This upgrade was long overdue and brought a smile to my face! I can honestly say that in the 1.5 years I have owned my GXE, this was the first actual "joy" ride.

I would have loved to put in eibach's or something but not gonna spend that kind of money on a 168k mile car.
