Early 90's Eagle Talon TSI.
I pulled up to him at a light with 3 of my friends and looked at him (he was by himself). I didn't think much of it and the light turned green and we both took off the line real slow, Me not paying attention once we get threw the intersection he takes off like a damn ROCKET! I floor it but since i was already in the low RPMs of first gear still my auto tranny just tried to catch up and never did, It didn't kick or anything just tried to climb out of the hole and by that time he was about 4 car lengths ahead. I wanted a round 2 because i think i could have kept it closer but he turned off.
Then my friends wouldn't shut up about how "quick" it was. blah

can be up to 250hp+ with just minor bolt-ons!!! those are some fast SOB's--->
1990 Eagle Talon TSi AWD 6.8 15.1
1992 Eagle Talon TSi AWD 6.7 15.2
1995 Eagle Talon TSi 6.4 15.1

I don't think you would've wanted a "Round 2"

As fast as those cars were when they first came out, most of those early 90's models have been beat to hell and are running at about 50%, my friend had a turbo talon ( early 90's forgot exactly the year)and he would get his *** whopped by everything, they dog when not well maintained, i had a very close race with one form a stoplight once, but then after that race we went form a 30 MPH roll and of course his turbo ripped me a new one.

Yup.....

eventhough my friend doesn't have a early 90's model, he doesn't really take care of his '95 Eclipse GST, he's ran it down to NO OIL twice and he's always talking about modding this and modding that and how he'll have 400hp by next summer, I just laugh at him and tell him he can barely maintain the car at the stock 210hp!! some people just don't deserve a car that has as much potential as the DSM turbos!

With the mods youve listed, I dont think that, even with a good launch, you could have taken him.

My brother has a '90 Talon TSi AWD. That thing has seen better days, but it could put a hurtin' on my Max. I havent reaced him off yet, but those things are pretty potent when the turbo winds up.

Stock numbers put a '90 TSi at 15.1. Take into account an average driver and loss of compression and over a 100,000mi on the odometer, his car would probably run 15.8-16.0. Thats still at least .5 better than I could run with my stock Max.

Don't feel bad... I raced an early 90's Talon TSi last night and got beat by 1 1/2 car lengths. I took him off the line but his Turbo spooled up and it was all downhill.

I would have got beaten but i know i could have kept it closer than what i did, that's why i wanted round 2.
After that though i now know i'm going NOS, or Turbo, or waiting for the new Z's.
Then it will be a true round 2 !!
