Sure... they can take out about 3lb of steel off the back.. but it won't do you much good overall, since the factory one is over 20lb. fidanza is 11lb.

I'm thinking about getting a fidanza when my clutch goes... will this affect how the engine runs in the winter/ cold weather? Also if I get a lightened UDP along with the flywheel will it make the engine run differently/worse/ less reliable in the winter?

Think about it for a minute... what does temperature have to do with the engine running properly using lighter components?

I started typing a sarcastic "if will **** up your car if you do that" response, but I just couln't post it.

Put the lightened components on, you will love them. It doesn't have an impact on relability.

The biggest question you have to ask, is if your car is worth a $300 for a flywheel + $100 for a UDP. That $400 that doesn't go toward things that are broken.

also, you might as well add around $250-300 for an ACT or Exedy stage 1 clutch. If you are going to do all that, might as well have the right clutch for that kind of performance.

I love my Fidanza/ACT set up. It is not really like stock (not as smooth), but it is definitely fun and worth it to me.

Anything would be smoother than the clutch in it right now... I had a performance clutch... I think... or weird/broken clutch.. in my first maxima and all the action was at the bottom it was like an on-off switch and it made it hard to feather it when stopped on hills or starting out when not paying attention.. is this just the clutch I had or is that a common thing with the racing/performance clutches?

sounds more like a crap install.. either it was a bad clutch or throwout bearing, or something was messed up in the hydraulic lines.

but a high performance clutch will be more like an on-off switch over a smooth engaging OEM-like clutch.

i recommend the fidanza flywheel mod. you will notice it. it is not one of those barely-felt mods. do upgrade the clutch, though. i got valeo stg 1.

don't bother resurfacing the oem flywheel.

Will the flywheel and UDP affect reliability, engine life, or driveablility in a negative way? This car is my daily driver and I need it to get me to and from work and school everyday... Sorry for the dumb questions... I'm just that kind of person who needs it all spelled out... Thanks for your opinions

well they will cause your cause mileage to go down in direct relation to the increased propensity of the right foot to go down faster/farther than prior to their install.

but you can still get more miles to the tank if you drove teh exact same on one car with a fidanza/udp and one car without the fidanza/udp.
