No Reverse

Hey all I am a here. I just got an 89 Maxima that doesnt go in reverse and was wondering if there was a way to fix it other than a new tranny ? I dont know much about Nissan's so any help would be greatly welcomed.

Edit: I forgot to say that it is an automatic tranny.

Try wigggling the shifter a bit when it's in reverse. Mine does the same thing on occasion. It's probably a bad shifter bushing, which is a dirt cheap little plastic thingy that takes abot 15Min. to fix, but I've been too lazy!
