He's got a GXE though, so he doesn't need platinums.

since you have a gxe(sorry about the SOHC) any spark plug will suffice. My brother just put DENSO iridium's in his supra and they kick ***! I would put them in my max. but I don't have the money to drop $13.99 each.

i think it was determined a while back that for the GXE, the platinum tips offered zero improvement.

regardless... get the OEM NGK's as Dan suggested.

it'll idle the same and run the same on regular coppers also. you made the comparison with worn plugs.

i swear some of you new guys need to read. plats? irid? NGK coppers are 2 bucks a pop (about) and every new set gets u that smooth perfect idle.

figure for 60K you can run 2 sets of coppers - 24 bucks (12 plugs) for 60K.
OR
12 bucks for one NKG plat - 12 X 6 = 72 bucks for 60K. it's your money. ya know if you want to p1ss your money away just paypal me the 48 bucks and i'll spend it on hoes or go to the jiggly bar.

plats plugs have more resistance compared to coppers. STOP BUYING THE MARKETING HYPE!!!
only reason why they made plat plugs because platnium is a harder metal and it'll resist wear better than copper.

I paid $10.50 for my plugs total. I think it's great that you're explaining that you don't have to blow alot of money to get good performing spark plugs. My plugs weren't gnarly and gross, just time to replace them (NGK R). The R's idled fine, just not as good as they should've.

Put my vote in on the NGK V-Power plugs too. I don't think I'll use anything else in my ride
