My '94 GXE ran almost up to 5000 rpm in 4th. I was on I-10 in the middle of the night going down a steep grade with a tail wind. This hill is about an hour east of LA going down into the Coachella Valley (Palm Springs) its where the windmills are, hence the tail wind. It took a long time to reach this velocity and a splash guard was damaged. If anyone can calculate my speed please post.

 

tire size plus gear ratio help if you want an accurate reading (disregaurding tach inaccuracy).
