Silverstars and XD5 pics

Finally got a set of XD5s after some users on the org complimented on their brightness and color temperature. I've been running Silverstars for awhile now and am pretty satisfied with them. But I wanted to give the XD5s (stock wattage version) a try. The color difference is more noticeable in person... but here are some pics:

Head on look. XD5's color temperature a bit higher than the Silverstars.

Angled look of the two bulbs. My corner lights, rewired with a 'hyperwhite' bulb looks yellow compared to the XD5.

Final thoughts? Not worth the money IMO. If you're going to get them, at least upgrade your harness and get the higher wattage version. The blue glass on the XD5 just sucks up too much light. The light is whiter and more HID like, but the Silverstars throw more usable light on the road.

I think they look cool, but the higher the color temp the less usable light you have

I dunno... Now, I've only recently gone to the XD5s from the XD3s, but I've found them (XD3) to be better on the road than the Silverstars. But, to be honest, that might be because I only went to those bulbs after doing my BMW conversion.

So, maybe THAT might have made a difference in light transmission, seeing as the housings are waaaay different.

But thanks for the comparo, regardless. I think I'll stick with the XD3's, though...
