Muffler question
The lower portion of my muffler is rotting out with rust exposing what looks like polished stainless underneath. No exhaust is escaping or noise herd past the exposed section. My car is due inspection. Could I just peel away the rusted section leaving the shiny portion or is my muffler gone and needs replacement? If I need to replace is Bosal a satisfactory cat back replacement? Does it come in two sections required welding?

You should just replace it. There are companies that sell catbacks for a little added hp. Search the forum or look in the stickies.
You can just buy a muffler and have it welded on also.
Not to many have the Bosai catback. It's probably loud

you likely have other portions of pipe that aren't going to last too long, either. Jeff is right about the whole cat-back thing.
I would go to a muffler shop and get a new cat-back made. I think they usually charge around $200-$250 for the cat-back in crush bent 2.5" pipe with a resonator and some kind of "performance" muffler. Usually it is an unpolished DynoMax or something similar.
If you provide your own muffler, it is going to be probably $50-$75 cheaper at the shop, but the total price might be higher, depending on the muffler.
