well just got a blk face 5 inch tach for free..a guy in livingston had car troubles on 280 so i helped him.the wires for the alternator were unplugged so his battery died on his nissan.1 battery later and 1 hour of labor i noticed that he had a summit racing shirt on.blah blah blah later i asked him about a tach and he showed me 2 types,"the grey one was hot, but i like the blk one" i said,,he stated that if it wasn't for me stopping and helping him till the end that he would be unemployed cause he had to reach ny b4 4.(cell battery dead).he said that just for helping its mines..brand spanking new in box 5 inch tach.now where to put it?what wires to connect it to?after going to the site i realized that they come in carbon fiber ..o well any replies will help

You sell it and just get a shift light is what you do, then you hide it in your dash vent, so that you dont have a huge ricey attention grabbing tach on the dash of your family sedan

Yeah, your car has a perfectly readable tach already. James has a good idea with the shift light, but I would just put the tach up on ebay and buy mods that actually help you.

By the way, here's mine. It doesn't show up so good on the camera when it's lit up, but the light is super bright in person. I can't seem to get a decent picture with the camera, but you get the idea.

good idea..the dash on my se its pretty big already.i dont want to attract attention to my max when im parked around the way.im considering trading the tach for some tints.i think tints on a car help bring shine at night and eliminate the brown left arm syndrome the guy at the speed shop around here has a 2k max and he wants the tach for his gsr..(rice)..nice idea for the vent shift light.i here these tachs are around 200 dollars!either way the max is only a daily driver for school and work(i have a 13's se-r in the garage for track and autocross).the se-r already has a tach and some other gauges that help.hmm,maybe i could get a volt meter/amp meter to track my alternator since ive got a system in the car..although i dont see a max w/ a pod yet i thought about sneeking them under the radio.it has a flip open shelf that can probably be removed.

I turned the key all the way (as if cranking the engine) to get the shift light to come on since it lights up for a second or two when you crank the engine. If you'll notice the dash lights come on (as well as my shift light lights up for a second) about a second before the clock illuminates

He meant that tint plural is just tint... not tints

Same with neon... neon plural is still neon.... not neons

It's like saying MPH's or something (which is also why RPMs is wrong)
