Brake bias percentage(proportioning valve)????

Does anyone know the percentage on our cars? 65/35 maybe? Thanks.

it's listed in the FSM in the brake section.

And since the pressures are valved inside the brake master or the abs unit, it's non adjustable. If you want to change the bias, you either:
1) Increase front and or rear braking
2) Decrease the front bias by limiting it

Well, my abs module shat the bed a while ago, and I have been driving on my front brakes (Z calipers) only. I dont really have the money to replace it, and I wanted to get the bias right when i make my own proportioning valves. A little more to rear than stock because of the z calipers. No rear BBK for me to keep stock proportioning, lol.

Hmmm. I would think with a turbo and 290hp, you would be doing everything to get your brakes working properly. I am going to assume you want to bypass the abs and use maybe a Tilton valve to control things. In order to do that, you would have to re-tube all your brake lines or maybe swap all the lines from a non-abs maxima. Either option is very time consuming and technical. I don't think you will ever get the bia right as long as you have to go though the abs actuator as the porportioning valve is inside.

If your actuator is not working properly I STRONGLY suggest you find another one and get your brakes working right. 290hp and malfunctioning brakes is NOT a safe combination. You should be able to source one here on from a junkyard for fairly cheap

yeah, what he said.
or you can go all out and install dual master cylinders with a balance bar between them.

lol. I knew a lecture was gonna come if I said that i only had front functional brakes. Thanks for the concern, but I drive just fine to use just my front brakes. They work better than you might think. But I was just gonna run 2 splitters from each line from the master cylinder, with the appropriate bias. I have tried before to get an abs module on the site before with no luck. There arent any junk yards with a ve here. Do non-ve's have abs, or even the same module from other years maybe?

VGs use different actuators. I don't know how well you think your fronts only work but I'll tell you this. There was a nice brake difference when I put on my rear BBKs after doing my front BBKs.

Try car-part.com. They should have lots of listings
