it's an electric signal. it's measuring voltage, (i think) the faster you go the higher the voltage goes (or something like that)

That is why some gxe's have it and some do not.....

i have to look into this on my '89 SE since ur tellin' me that it was standard on all SE's to have heated mirrors cuz my '89 SE does not have heated mirrors. maybe the dumbass of the previous owner changed it so who knows. either way im gonna get rid of my '89 cuz i don't want it anymore.

jadegreenmax if u change ur GXE cluster to the VG SE cluster or VE SE cluster it will still read correctly. i have the VE gauges in my '93 GXE and it reads just fine. i also know this cuz i also did the HUD conversion and it matches up with my gauges and i even had a cop friend clock me to c if it was correct as well.

I have factory heated mirrors on my 89 SE and there's a write up on them in my manual so I know they're original

light green??? i think they r light blue though i may be wrong. i barely pay any attention to my mirrors on my '93 GXE. all i know is that my '93 came with heated mirrors but i think they have the light blue tint not light green.

My 91 SE with non-heated mirrors has a light blue tint to them just like my friends 03 BMW 330i. It makes everything look brighter.
