1991 passenger door mirror problem

Good morning all,

I have a 1991 gxe and recently i was pulling out of walmart and was too close to a light pole and i tore off the passenger side rear view mirror. I was wondering if anyone knows how to take replace it...

Thanks in advance

It's not hard. Inside the car, there is an panel behind the mirror. If you pop that off, it will show 2 bolts. Take those off to remove the black plastic piece. Underneath that, there will be three bolts for your mirror. Take those out and only one more step. About 8 inches down the door there is a plug in for the wiring harness for the mirror. Just unplug that and you can now pull the mirror off. The install is reverse.

*You do not need to remove the door panel to access the wiring harness. You simply need to loosen the top part (there are separate halves) and pull it back while you remove the wiring harness.

yeah you risk messing up the panel by pulling it out like that. Take a few more minutes and take the whole panel off.

FuGeE---
I have some mirrors for a 91 if you are interested. They are SE mirrors so they would need to be painted. click my name in my sig to email me if you are interested.

Eh, it was alot quicker to me to not pull the panel. I get soooo annoyed with panels that I loathe the idea of removing and installing them.
