leaking oil =( need help
I have noticed my 92 maxima se DOHC is leaking small amounts of oil near the pan and bottom pulley by the front cover. I can't tell if it is coming from the front cover or if my pan just isn't sealed all the way. I put in some STOP LEAK in my oil the other day and the problem still persists. Is there any way I can check to be sure of where the oil is leaking from so I know where to begin the repair?

The seal is very easy on our VE30DEs. Just remove the accessory belts, undo the crank bolt, remove pulley, pry off the old seal, carefully install the new one, reinstall everything. I'd take a close took to make sure the seal is leaking. Oil pan does not have to come off for this.

usually it's either the front main seal or the oil pan lip seal. the front main seal is under $10 for the part, and the lip seal I just clean and re-seal with RTV silicone. $2.
so you can fix it yourself in about an hour for less than $12 if you're handy with tools.
you'll need a basic hand tool set- 10,12,14mm sockets, a few extensions, a 12mm wrench, then you'll need the hoss 27mm socket for the crank pulley bolt. borrow/rent it from a parts store and you're set. good luck getting the pulley off too- mine usually comes off very easily, but others have had horrible problems with it.

I have never changed a belt on my ve30de, I have done one before, but it was easier to get to(was in the front). Is it hard to get the belts off and then back on and tight? I notice a bolt looking thing on the bottom near the pulley, it looks like it adjust tension on the belts...is that all it is?

Try digging around in the stickies. I'm sure the instructions are in there. Basicly:
1) Jack up front end.
2) Take off pass side wheel
3) Remove splash sheilds
4) Undo tensioners so you can remove belts. There are two that access from the bottom and one that you access from the top.(near the front valve cover area)
5) Refer to previous instructions.
