Too bad it's a GXE with all the chrome trim, if you could get some black trim and some VE tails, or at least some SE ones itd look better I think, and of course some rims

sand off the chrome then paint it? or paint over the chrome? im planning to paint my front gxe grill to black, cut out the rib and add black mesh, but i dont know if it would be better to sand off the chrome first. i have fusion paint, that will paint over just about anything. what do you think

well first off its not chrome. It is stainless.

if you like it leave it alone.

If you dont like it then scuff it up and paint it with trim paint. Thats all you need to do.

Dont clearcoat it because black shiny trim looks horrible IMO.

max looking good. great condition. if you like it the way it is, then there is no crime in that. is that the original paint?

yep, that's original paint.. cept for one of the doors which had gotten too many dings over time and i had it fixed and resprayed. i love my shiny hood reflecting the sky..

i tried to sand of some of the god forsaken oxidized chrome finish on one of my tail lights, and it won't come off.. such a pain in the butt.

i wanted to cut out that rib in the front grille and put in grille mesh, but that rib has too much of it attached to other parts of the grille, and i don't have any power tools to do it.. so i just sprayed it all black and stuck it back in. i didn't even primer it.. just cleaned it, then sprayed and sprayed under the sun with duplicolor..

the only thing that will make your car look 100% better from the outside is rims. I just bought mine a few weeks ago, and now I'm startin with the little body mods.
