since my right rear speaker is busted (Bose factory) i'm replacing it. I cant seem to locate any good used Bose to replace, so I'm going with another brand that is 4-8 Ohm. I heard that the Bose is set at 1 ohm, so will I need an adapter? And what about the amps, do I need to do anythng to them?

I took out the bose in my car and put in 2 sony xlpod 6x9.....they fit perfect and you just gotta rewire the adapter or run a whole new wire to the deck...usually rewiring to the old harness is alot easier...any speaker should be fine

Be careful if you are just replacing the speaker. I put in a 4 ohm 6X9 to replace the OEM Bose and had the speaker amp CATCH ON FIRE!

While I was driving with my daughter in the car! I replaced the whole system the next day with a Sony head unit and speakers.

Bought a car fire extinguisher too!
