VTC Rebuild Kit

I would love to purchase a VTC rebuild kit (supposedly around $40/ea?) but my Nissan dealer told me that they are discontinued and nobody stocks them any more. Tried Courtesy Nissan as well. There's no way I putting $1000 into my $3000 car to get rid of a ticking sound but $80-$100 is worth it even if it only fixes it for a few years. Does anybody know were I can get them?

they stopped selling the kits?! You realize that unless you do the rebuild yourself it is going to cost you alot more than $100 to fix them if you can find the kit. Just ground out the VTC's for about $5.00 for the cost of connectors and wire and be done with it. Or turn the radio up and spend nothing.

I want to do the rebuild myself since I work at a machine shop and have access to all the tools, etc. I had them grounded for about a year and it worked great. Unfortunately, my ABS actuator went out a couple of months ago and the car sat at the shop for almost two weeks. Ever since then the clicking has become so bad that my wife is embarrassed to drive it. She's pressing me for a minivan so I'm getting desperate.

Yonker Nissan carries them

You also do not need a press to rebuild them.

Some dealers will only sell the rebuild kits, others will only sell new VTC assemblies. I found that Younker Nissan will sell both but puts the emphensis on selling the VTC rebuild kits first. Performance Nissan wont even sell the VTC kits.

Those are just my local dealerships. Younker had to order one of the kits from some other dealership.

Just to be clear, when you tried Courtesy did they also say the kit is being dis-continued? That sucks
