you can if you don't care about setting your car on fire. if you use the stock wiring with a high wattage bulb, you run the risk of melting your wires possibly setting your car on fire. just upgrade the wires and don't worry about.

i just finished my e36 conversion and upgraded the wire harness.

Well you can get different wattage 9005/9006 bulbs just like you can 9004 bulbs(stock Maxima bulb).

If you use the factory wattage bulbs for the BMW you will be just fine. I am not 100% sure what the stock wattage is but do remember its about what the 9004 bulbs are.

go to sylvania's web site for a listing of bulbs and their wattage. I remember reading it a while back.

standard 9005 and 9006 are 45 and 55W, IIRC.
standard 9004 bulb uses 45 or 55W for low beam and 65W for high beam.

How hard would these ones be to install?...Im fairly good with wiring...would I have to rewire my complete light system for these, or could I use relays?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33710

these are chrome housing with the blue ring light....

they are not hard to install, just time consuming. i would use the relays and make an upgraded harness to handle the higher wattage.

also IMO the chrome ones look ugly.
