How do you know if your master cylinder is going bad ?? I bled the brakes from the master cylinder (matter of fact bled it 3 times very little brake fluid came out of brake line). I have to pump it a few times to stop. Autozone has new cylinder not rebuilt for 93.99.

 

if you're MC is going dead then when you press the pedal you don't stop. it doesn't hold pressure or give u enough pressure to stop the car. it also can leak externally...that's when you know it's dead.

are you talking about wheel cyl in the drum brakes?

 

no the mc itself. I have 4 wheel disc. I'm going to pick up a new mc after work. Thanks for info !

 

Lucky for you I work at a brake shop. Your MC is going dead when you put your pedal to the floor and make a complete stop. After the vehicle has stopped, and without removing your foot off the brake; if your pedal sinks to the ground further than it did before the car was completely stopped, then your MC is going bad.
And by the way; why did you bleed the brakes in the first place? The only time you need to bleed the brakes is when you replace a caliper or a wheel cylinder. If you are just replacing the brakes, there is no need to bleed them.
