Transmission Again
Transmission Again
So i Just burned up my second automatic transmission in 2 1/2 months. I originally had a used low mileage swaped in after the first one, it seemed fine but still had this eerie kind of habitual prolonged first gear then shortened second gear. I had them take a look and he adjusted the line pressure. This helped for the critical redline shift that seemed to be taking place in first gear but didn't do anything for my non-existent second gear.
Either way, I waited it out and now it slides between second and third and sometimes just won't shift out of 3rd when on the freeway. I have the tranny under warantee but i still have to pay for labor. The car is not spitting any codes and the line pressure is fine. Is there anyway my ECU could have a quirk in it? Would having it reprogrammed help this situation? Please help.

the Car has a TCU seperte from the ECU but IIRC you don't have an electronic trans.
used low mileage means nothing!
a high mileage used can be better or it can be worse. unless you know the history of the trans you are throwing money out the window IMHO
