Window Motor?

Guys,

I replaced a bad window regulator on my 1993 Max without issue, fixed things right up.

My dad has a 1994 GXE, same crap happened to him but on the rear-window (rear drivers side). I replaced the regulator like a big show off for him, went to put the window up and it got about 3/4 the way up and stopped while making a nasty binding sound. A little help with my hand and it went up the rest of the way.

I took everything apart, nothing was binding or in the way of the cabling, etc. from the new install.

I'm wondering if it could be the motor assembly I transferred over from the original? I was thinking if there are gears in it, they might have been destroyed when the regulator originally started to fail-- we were yanking up on the window super hard to try and get it back up (happened in a snow storm last year). All that jerking on the window, I wonder if that would destroy the motor assembly?

Anyway, let me know if any of you have experience with those motors, I would appreciate it. It's all I can think of since the Regulator is brand new (Nissan OEM) and there isn't really much else in there besides the motor.

Thanks!

what happened to the motor the new regulator came with? or did you just get the regulator? when I replaced my friends regulators, he had 3 bad ones at once lol.....all of them worked fine except for one...it did the same thing you describe....turned out it was the motor, he put in his old motor and it worked fine...maybe the pulley thing on the regulator needs to be lubricated if its not the motor?

If the motor is working fine for most of the up part, I would think it's allright and you just have an alignment issue. Try loosening some bolts and realign things and try again.I've seen that happen before when installing a regulator and just needed to be moved a little. You can move the motor and regulator and also the window on the track.

yeah, when I put in my first one, I put the regulator in line with the marks left by the first regulator. The new regulator was just slightly off line from that and the window would stop about 1/2 inch from the top and grind.

After about 30 minutes of wondering WTF I did wrong, I looked at the top bolts. You can realign the bolts on the door to make everything work right.
