Question about redoing Maxima interior
#1
Hi everyone. I am new here and thought I would ask a question about redoing the interior of my rencently purchased 92 SE. It is in superb mechanical shape and I rencently had a body shop remove all of the dings and touch up the paint. Now, I would like to replace the carpet and leather on the seats. I called the dealer to get a price on new capet and they said it was over $800.0!!!! After I stopped laughing, I decided to go aftermarket. I have two questions regarding the carpet. What aftermarket color best matches the original (or what was the name of the original color) and where can I buy it. I am obcessive compulsive about neatness and a good fit so quality shall preceed price (as much as is sane). Also as far as the seats go, where is a good site to find replacement leather seat covers. And as before, what color best matches the origianl? Thanks so much in advance.

Sorry....I always forget the little things. The interior is a tan. The leather seats are very light tan and the carpet is also very light tan/beige. The plastic is pretty much all black. I have given a thought to changing the interior color since I am going to replace the carpet and seats. I thought about changing it all to black (for a sportier look). The exterior is called pearl white I believe but looks a little beige. What does everyone think about an interior color change?

ugh! no offense, but i cant stand the tan interiors on maximas. it would be relatively easy to do the color change. there is a spray paint type deal that you could do on the vinyl. my interior is black with grayish tweed. i love it, looks so much better than the tan i think. and i also painted all the dash plastic white.

All of the interior plastic is black already. The only tan parts are the seatbelts and the fabric in the door panels (why in the world did they put cloth door panels in a car with leather seats?). It might be a pain to change the seatbelts around now that I think about it. Also, I've seen black leather in a plain white but not in the pearl white/beige color that I have.

A lot of Silver?
Personally, I think that white is nice and clean looking, but a little overbearing. Silver looks cool and also reflects the lights well at night.
I think the best thing to do to a tan/beige interior is to add woodgrain. my $.02

Maximus,
I recently purchased some aftermarket carpet and decided to return it. You will never find carpet with the fit, finish, quality of manufacture, and material quality of factory carpet. You can buy factory carpet cheaper from Courtesy Nissan or another dealer that discounts prices instead of raising them.
The factory carpet comes with the holes already cut, and it's not just cloth, it's cloth fused with a heavy, dynamat type material for noise reduction, it is also has a very soft backing unlike the aftermarket stuff. You get what you pay for!
I paid $160 for the aftermarket carpet, I'd rather pay $500 for factory.

I guess if factory carpet is the only stuff that will really fit and look good, I'll bite the bullet and get it. What is the cheapest place to order this from. You guys mentioned Courtesy Nissan, do they have a website? Also where are they located; I am in NW Alabama.
