Door locks are possessed......
Normally my power door lock buttons won't work. But whenever it gets very hot outside or if i take the car for a long drive. The doors just randomly lock automatically.....and then they all just lock and unlock sparatically, as if the car is possessed.
It never bothered me until one day I tried to talk to this girl and my doors locks started jumpin up and down.
SHE GAVE ME THE CRAZIEST LOOK I'VE EVER SEEN....
PLEASE HEEEEEELP!!! Can't get any girls with my car having a mind of it's own
Thanks

lmao... that's funny as hell.. the only suggestion i can give is to pull out ur driver side power window/lock switch circuit and check all connections in the circuit and the wire harness attached to it.. it sounds like something is loose and making contacts at random...

Hi,
i have almost the same problem he is describing,
when it is cool the driver side switch work and it control all the door,
but when it is hot the driver switch doesn't control the other door switch and the keypad doesn't work when it is hot out side,

New door lock timer fixed it for me, it was about $75 shipped from www.courtesyparts.com

it's possible. look on craig's site (see the stickies at the top of this forum) for info on where it is and what to do with it.
If you can't fix it yourself, I fix it for $40, return shipping included.

Hi guys,
I just talk to the dealerships,
and the guys in the services department says the door lock timer was offical release on 7/91,
so the 92-94 has the door lock timer and the 89-91 doesn't have it,
I would like to let you guys know,

the door lock timer is located to the right of the steerign column after you take off the lower dash on the drivers side. It's a grey plastic box. There is a how-to on someone's site (not mine) that has some good pictures of pulling the circuit board out of it and resoldering it. Usually it's just the relay that has a cold solder joint and just needs to be resoldered. The symptoms are usually just failing door locks that get worse over time - you'll hear a relay click under the dash but the lock/unlock buttons wont do anything. The issue with the door locks fighting you is something else I think.
I dont know much about the pre door lock timer systems. I know there is a smaller box in taht location but no idea what it does and I dont have a service manual for the earlier years. It could be something similar that needs resoldering though. I've noticed that the earlier main door controls (all windows and lock/unlock on driver's door) are actually different in the earlier models so maybe it was controlled inside the main switch for those models.
Sucks that search isn't working for most people because this question comes up every week or so but most people (me) dont want to retype the same stuff every time.

I love this org!!! Read and learn. Door locks didn't work when we bought 92 SE over a year ago for my daughter. Read threads from Matt93SE and Craig B. Pulled door lock timer, could see visually without magnifying glass cracked solder joint on back of relay on circuit board. Resoldered just the relay connections after inspecting the whole board carefully with magnification. Took five minutes. Works now like a freaking champ!!! Highly recommend using a "solder sucker" to remove old solder first.
