Does the same thing happens when you go through a car wash?

Does the trunk fill with water even if you don't drive the car? If it does, then I would check your sunroof drains (they're in the trunk on either side, behind the panels, at the back of the wheel-well). Make sure they're not clogged.
If you have to drive the car in order to get your drivers floor wet and fill your spare tire-well, then you likely have a rusted-out rear seatbelt mechanism mount. Sounds far-fetched I know, but it's true. Nissan bolted the rear seatbelt mechanisms through the rear strut tower. This left the end of the bolt exposed to the harsh elements within the wheel-well. After awhile this caused rust. Unfortunately it goes unoticed because it's concealed behind the trunk panels - until it's too late that is... Either take your side panels off and look up to the top portion of the strut towers (inner wheel wells)......OR..... you could do an easy test........, just open your back door and give the top strap of the seatbelt (the one that disapears into the C-pillar) a really hard, sharp tug. If the seatbelt comes out, but doesn't retract, then you've got a serious rust problem and the mechanism is no longer bolted to the strut tower - instead you'll have a 2" x 2" hole (aprox.).
Better hope it's just clogged sunroof drains!

to test sunroof drains.......open roof all the way on level ground pour water (gently so it doesnt splash in the car)along all four corners of roof so it goes into the gutters channels and watch it drain from the four spots under the car ...just behind the front and back wheels.......i had a clogged right rear drain and it would fill all the way up the tube and leak into the headliner on the right rear side it was clogged where the antenna drian and roof drain (right rear)join into one (its like a small metal y-pipe) good luck
