water pum
there are six or seven bolts on the water pump! 5-6 of one bolt and 1 of another type. don't take it off unless you're prepared to replace it... rtv sealant, thread locking compound, new gasket (new pump)
oh wait....
i know your problem. you see three nuts? you need to take the camshaft/timing belt covers off. thats about 18 bolts right there,
BUT you need to take the pulley off the water pump to get the covers off. (4 bolts)

I have never chage a timming belt before. I finally get my water pump off today. I plan to change the timming belt as well. I anybody give me some tip about the timming belt. I can't take the very bottom part of the timming belt cover off for some wear reason. It won't come off.

I just noticed you're from Ann Arbor, I bet you're the only import on the road. Haha.
I got the Maxima repair manual. I think this is a stupit question but my car when i turn it on the water in the radiator it seen like it doesn't move at all. All the cooling just sit in the radiotor and the radiator star to heat up realy bad and the cooland star to have smoke up. Is it a water pump problem. thank

The behavior you described here sounds fairly normal to me. The coolent will sit still in the radiator until the thermostat opens up to allow cooler water to replace the hot water in the engine. Once it opens up, you should start to feel the radiator hoses get warm. If you have the cap off the radiator, which I wouldn't advise since this is a pressurized system, there will be steam coming up from the coolent. The radiator itself will also get hot to the touch. Even once the coolent is circulating, it will do so in pulses and you might not always see movement when looking into the radiator. The level of coolent in the radiator should always look full. The overflow container may show some fluctuation in the level as the coolent gets hotter and cooler.
If all this is happening, it would seem that both your water pump and thermostat are working fine.
Was there some other reason you felt the pump needed replacing?
I turn the engine on for about 5 minute and the radiotor got really hot but it seen like the cooland doesn't moving at all. the hose got really hot but it doesn't seem like water going to it. I just blow my old radiator a couple day a go so that why i think the water pump is bad. Just replace my thermostat a couple day a go

Also, does your temp guage indicate an over-heating problem? That would certainly indicate a cooling system problem of some kind.
I'm just kind-of throwing out ideas at this point. Not sure if you actually have a problem here or what it might be...
if you're going after the tbel proj, then consider changing the wp (every 120k) and the thermostat (every 60K) since you'll be spending so much time taking everything apart, it would be such pitta to do it again if you really needed to change these items. don't forget to change the seals too. if you got yourself a udp, then this would be the best time to do it cuz you'll end up taking it off too.
