loose steering

Just looking for any advice before I tear into the front end. My car was just aligned a few months ago so its probably not a problem with that because it tracks fine... The issue is that the steering is slightly disconnected. When making hard turns the steering wheel will actually not realign but stay turned in that direction. When it does realign on a turn it tracks perfect but when its turned it is constantly pulling (generally more to the right). I figure it is either the a bad tie rod end or faulty steering gear? Any advice would be great cause its eating my new tires......

check the control arm bushings. They can get corroded and f up the steering.
