Hi,

I just got a USED 1992-89 3.0l MAXIMA Air flow meter with part no.
22680-16V00. The casing look like the Z32 AFM which has part no. 22680-30P00.

I will like to check if the wiring is the same as the Z32 AFM? how much hp can it generate if it 5 volt signal? Z32 is known to be able to hit 500hp. I am thinking of putting this into my CA18DET 180SX.

Thanks in advance.

the maxima MAF is good to 350BHP

the 300zx MAF is good to 420BHP

you have a maxima maf which is obviously not the same as a z32 MAF

yes the Z32 maf and max mafs have a 0 to 5v scale

yes the harnesses are the same but the wireing is different

yes you could use your max maf on your CA but it would only be good to 350BHP at 5v

and i have both the max and Z MAFs in front of me to confirm the part numbers are correct

Thanks for replying. When u mean 350hp, it mean 350hp at the wheel or crank?
The wiring for Z32 is

Pin A B C D E F
Empty from MAF sensor Ground Ground Power source Empty

What is the maxima AFM wiring like?

i mean 350hp at the crank. roughly 290 at the wheels

i stand corrected on the wiring

from an inspection of the FSM it appears the wiring is the same

Pin A B C D E F

A empty

B input signal (for refference should read 0.8 - 1.5v at idle) but will obviously read slightly lower if used on your CA since it wont require as much air to idle

C engine ground

D goes to the ecu but should also read ground

E battery power

F empty

if you want to get your jollies, use the q45 maf, you only need to hook up BDE and then retune fuel maps
