Messed up the Max's suspension...
well heres what happened:
i was gettin' off the Florida Turnpike and my car was drivin' fine until i reached this road that swerves to the left then to the right and in between those swerves are railroad tracks. well once i was shifting the car a little to the left and me downshifting to 3rd gear while the road being wet my car just took a sudden a turn to the right when i was turnin' a little to the left and i just jumped right onto the sidewalk slidin' about 300 ft. on it with only the two right side tires on the sidewalk and almost hittin' a light pole but barely missed it by about 10 inches. luckily nothin' happened to me or the body of my car but my front right side suspension got completely messed up. i bent my lower control arm, broke my cv joint, bent my power steering bracket, broke my steering knuckle in half, and i think my steering rack might of gotten damaged. honestly guys this scary but im ok and my car is just sittin' back on jack stands waitin' to take off all the broken parts. i was not speedin' if that would be the first thing that will come to mind i was actually goin' 40 mph. i really don't know how this happened but i just thought i'd like to share this with u guys. right now i have this deal goin' on with another Maxima owner that is willin' to let his Maxima go for $900 so i will be checkin' this car out tomorrow. what a scary moment.

my tires r only 6 months old and they Sumitomos and they r still in good shape with alot of tread on it and yes it was the curb that messed up and what i aslo think what caused this was my rack and pinion i should be takin' pics of this if i have time tomorrow and try and post them up as soon as i can. but yeah 40 mph on a wet road is not even safe.

i took the pics today and damn let me tell u everytime i look at my car i feel hurt just lookin' at it jacked up by the front. but as soon as i develop the pics i'll post them so that u guys can c how much of a damage i have.
Even if your tires look good, I would say there is a good chance that the belts inside on at least one of them broke if you went over a curb at high speed. You should have them checked out before putting them back on the road.
Sorry about your car, but I think with all of the guys with parts cars, you could fix your suspension for less than $900. You could buy a lot of the parts used and do the labor yourself.

here's the cause of your accident. the previous accident damaged something which is why driving a rebuilt car can be sketchy. my friend died in a reconstructed integra. it could be complete coincidence but that is the same area of the car that was destroyed in the accident with the accord. who's fault by the way? how'd it happen? i almost flew off a cliff in 2000 in a 91 maxima but luckilly a boulder demolished the entire right side of the car keeping me from driving off the cliff to my death.
Wow, that sucks. I don't know when you've had your last rain, but if it's been a while, roads tend to get slick from all the grease and junk that hasn't been washed away. So that could have been it too.
I would also dismount the tires and check the insides for evidence of the tire being pinched between the curb and wheel. It depends how it struck the curb, but the tires might be toast if the internal belts and cords have been damaged or busted.
Seeing how all those fairly strong suspension parts have been broken, I'd also get the frame (like where the suspension meets the rest of the car) checked out by a bodyshop or some place that can check frame alignment. It's possible that things such as the control arm mounts have been bent.
I just noticed that this happened LAST MONTH. How's repairs going?

Reconstructing cars totally depends on the part being fixed. I wouldn't want to drive a car with serious frame damage. I can't really tell how much damage there is on Grnmaxmon's car, but I have seen cars damaged far worse not even get totaled out. They were newer cars (our cars don't have much value anymore). My father-in-law owns a body shop and you would be surprised how well cars can be put back together, as long as the frame isn't flucked up.

Hectic: ur right it was in the same place where my car got smashed but all i had to replace was just the radiator support and the rest of the parts of my front end after the accident with the accord. when i had that accident it was her fault cuz she took the stop sign and fooled me by swervin' into my lane thinkin' that she was goin' to move again and she didn't and then when i noticed it was too late for me to switch lanes cuz i had cars on my left and right side.
RedMax92SE is right because my damages with the accord was actually in front of my strut tower so nothin' got damaged behind that and i double checked with the shop and they even showed me that the frame is still ok. now if this damage would of exceeded past my strut tower then i would have just let the car go and by me another one with what the insurance would have given me.
Bman: i actually fixed the car a week later after i got all the parts together from a local junkyard. eventually i ended up gettin' my control arm, steering knuckle and crossmemeber bushings for $50 and the CV joint from AutoZone for only $60 and then installed the new parts. now after all the parts were put on i had to take off my front rims cuz the one that got the most damage got bent to so i had to go buy stock rims and put the stocks in the front.
now for all u guys i turned out to be my steering rack and pinion that was messed up. so i had that replaced by a local shop that only specializes in front wheel drive cars. now when i found this out i took it to Pep Boys to get a free estimate and they quoted me 2 front new tires, new steering rack and alignment and labor included for $670. so instead i took it to other shop and they only did my steering rack brand new with labor for only $225 and i bought 2 new tires for the front for only $70 and $60 for alignment. and don't worry guys im gonna take my car back to the body shop to double check the frame and if its damaged 'till then be safe guys and thanks for all ur replies.
