in 91, se or gxe were both vg engines, shouldnt make a difference in the ps pump, could be wrong tho, just look at your door, if you have a keypad under the handle its a gxe

look at your spedometer gauges, if they're white, you have an SE. Also, if you have a spoiler, it's an SE

Hi,

it was only for the gxe,

not for the se,

the se is more the sporty car,

and the gxe is more the luxury car,

... SE will also have blacked out center piece in the rear & different rims (more of a saw design)... oh, and can't forget about that extra pedal (I think it's called a clutch)

and the GXE can have a spoiler too

GXE=rear drum brakes
SE=rear disc brakes

I think the only accurate way you'll find out which trim level you have is to do a search on the VIN

for the gxe:

the gxe has black guage face, key less entry system, no spoiler, no fog

lights, no bose system, soft springs, gxe get the vg engine and the 89-91 se

gets vg engine,

the earlier se has white face guages, stiffer springs, no keyless entry system,

standard with stick and optional auto black in the center and black on the mirrors,

the later se has the same option above as the earlier se but gets the ve engine and some other modifications,

the only thing that you need to know to figure out is if the gauges are white-faced, its an SE....and if they are black faced, its a gxe

the easiest and least likely to be changed part that is different between the SE and GXE is the keypad on the door every other part I've seen on the wrong model.
it's not fool proof but it's the most likely way of differentiating
