a fuel injector problem?(kinda long)

Well my max has been running pretty weird lately. Yesturday it didnt start up right away and i bought a new baterry and then it ran fine. Well today at school, when I went to go leave it didnt start up again. Heres the problem, it starts up the first time, but only gets to say 300 rpms before it dies, i try to restart it but nothing, just turns over and nothing happens(you hear it try to start)

So im wondering does this sound like and injector problem or maybe an air flow problem. I just got the MAF replaced a little while ago, but i bought it from a salavage yard and they sold it to me for half price because one of the places where you bolt it on broke off, so i was thinking that might be it, but it also idles when it does start up so, idk lol

If it isn't the alternator, then it sounds like a dying fuel pump to me. [shameless plug] I have a fuel pump with less than 1000 miles use on it for sale if it does turn out to be the fuel pump. Let me know. [/shameless plug]

Buy a cheap inline fuel pressure guage and see if you get pressure when you put the key to ign. Or if you get any decent pressure when you try to start the car.

Doesn't sound like a injector problem. As it doesn't take hardly any fuel to start/idle the car.

It could be any one of 5-6 electrical problems and any one of 3-4 fuel related problems.

I'd blame the fuel pump myself.
But that's the joys of a pressure gauge and FSM

Mine did the same thing about a year ago. It was the fuel pump.

If it is your fuel pump, go with a good replacement. I tried an after market one and it could not send the fuel to the engine fast enough on start-up. This resulted in a long cranking time. I had it replaced with a Nissan pump and it was back to normal.

thats what its doing, but it isnt long..it just never starts up, just cranks. I just usually pop the clutch to get it started, but i dont want it to die on me at like a mall or something with flat ground.

pretty much figured out the problem. We think its teh MAF. Even though i bought a new one, i got it from a salvage yard, and one of the side bolt places was missing, and i got it for half price, so im just gonna go buy a new one.
