CV boot

Came out to my car this morning to see the front driver wheel with grease all over it and grease on everything in the wheel well. How hard is it to replace the outer boot? Anyone have a write up? Thanks

It's not that hard, but you really need to check the other boots, especially if they have all been on for the same length of time. I'll see if I can find the write up I used and direct you to it. Later

I've checked, and I think the link he gave you is the one to use. Just be sure when you put the axle back into the tranny, that it is so close that you can't get the tip of your finger between the tranny and the large part behind the shaft. It may feel like you've pushed it all the way, but if there is any space push it some more. Otherwise, Like I, fluid will be all over the floor. Also, you may feel the trans fluid is all drained out, because you've removed the plug, but mine only took 2 quarts after I put everything back together.
