Radiator suggestions?
Radiator suggestions?
Hi,
I need your expert advice. The plastic tank in my radiator blew a hole in itself and it's time for a new one. I would hate to pay dealer prices for a new one when aftermarket would be just fine.
Any suggestions on an aftermarket radiator? I understand the stock radiator has a plastic tank which is crap in my opinion. So, if you guys know of an all metal one, or even one with higher performance.
I have to make a decision quickly! Thanks!

I bought mine from radiators.com. Great outfit. they are located about 10 miles away so I bought it from them otherwise I'd have gone to www.internetautomart.com. It cost about $120 for an OEM replacement radiator (plastic top) with a lifetime warrenty and it works great.
I lived in AZ for about 10 years with this car and it never had any overheating issues even in the long desert drives. unless you're really racing your car then I doubt you need an all metal design. plus, how much more will you pay for an all metal design and how long will you keep the car - your original raidator lasted a good 10-15 years right?

I bought an aftermarket one for my Stanza a while back, and it was all metal. I prefer the metal ones, but Medic has a point- I don't think it's a huge issue unless you're keeping the car forever.
I paid around $100 for it, and it may even be the same radiator since a lot of Stanza/Maxima parts interchange.

My car had a metal one on it when I got it. the thing was a total POS. tanks kept springing leaks all the time and it didn't fit properly, all kinds of stupid issues.. replaced it with a used OEM one and it's great now.
i got an aftermarket plastic one for my car about 2 years ago and its pretty good. just make sure the ones you get has a lifetime warranty. then if it leaks u shoud be able to take it back. OEM was plastic so i would stick with it. shoud be around $120
Plastic tanked radiator not a plastic radiator,
there is also a weight saving to be had by using the PTR vs. a CBR
I used the PTR on my Camaro, it shaved a good 5 lbs off the nose of my car
