Climate control Celsius to Fahrenheit

undefined

I was wondering if anyone knows how to convert the display on the climate control from metric to imperical. I could not find anything in the owner's manuel to see degrees fahrenheit.

Thanks
Michael

you'll have to take the climate control unit out of the dash (see my how-to page) and you'll need to cut one black wire
This wire is in the larger of the two harnesses going into the climate control. It's near the middle. yellow/black above it, light green to one side, light green/white to the other.
You should cut this wire and it'll go to Fahrenheit

thanks

Thanks Craig,

Great site, I wish I knew about it before. I just upgraded vehicle and will be selling the SE. I am going to miss my babe. 237000km of hassle free driving, minus the vtc noise. I am still not convinced the grounding issue will solve the severity of the knock at this point. Have you heard of success vs failure rates on the grounding approach?

Thanks again
Michael

Michael,
Thanks for the compliments on the site.

I'd say probably somewhere around 90% of the VTC grounding attempts have quieted the noise from what I've seen people posting and such. Sometimes it wont quiet it completely, but will make some difference. I've had mine grounded for 4 years or so and it's a little noiser now than when I originally did it, but mainly just at startup. Still better than with them ungrounded though.

Now, why would you want to do that? Metric is a better system.

Sorry to bump this old topic, but I didn't feel the need to start a new one.

Is it possible to convert from Fahrenheit to Celsius?

I don't think the wire exists on US models so you will have to find the same type of connector and steal one of the wires with the pin attached, then snap it into the correct pin location on the connector in your car and ground that wire.

If you have a FSM, it's easy. See pageHA-81. Can be changed with the Auto air conditioner (came on my GXE) by running thr self diagnostics test during step #5, auxiliary mechanism:temperature setting trimmer. It's too detailed for me to try to explain here, but if you have access to a Factory Service Manual, you'll be successful.

Good luck.
