battery isn't charging - help

I've changed the DOHC motor from one maxima to the next and just got it up and running. I bought a new battery for the car and after a few weeks of very infrequent use, the battery dies. I take the car up to autozone and they say the battery is not a getting a charge, but doesn't say what the problem is. So i take out the alternator and get that checked at a separate garage. They say the alternator is fine. What other options do i have?

Jump start/Roll start it, and take it for a 2 hour cruise.
No success = empty the battery, refill it, and retry.

checked all wires for loose or corroded connections.

when autozone tested battery they should of been able to tell if the alternator was putting out a proper charge or not.

get it running, jump starting or however. and check the voltage of the battery while at idle

Most battery shops will test your entire system (battery and alternator) at the same time.

You might want to clean the battery terminals and connections really good and make sure everything is tight and clean with good contacts.

Like 1313 said above, I would check all the wires for corrosion or loose connections.

there are an assortment of things that can cause issues.
Heck the other day we found out the main relay was causing charging issues on my dad's corolla.

Well, theres no need to roll or jump start the car. We just recharge the battery and start it up. Problem is that it dies so fast. As for the battery terminals - those are clean. I replaced them both a few months ago. The wires are probably the problem.

Autozone wouldn't say whether it was the alternator or not, even when i asked them. They just said the battery wasn't getting a charge

a very hot relay and a couple hours of diagnostic time while trying to figure out the wiring diagram.

check grounds. Get alternator tested. that's what a guy would do.
