internals question

i have a 92 gxe. i was looking up engine codes in a oil filter catalog and noticed that my gxe has the same engine code as the previous gen's 300zx. so its the same engine? my question is do they share every thing or is it just the bottum end? and are the internals the same? if what i think is true the turbo vg30t minus the g is also the same engine dose it also share the same internals as my max? thanks.

Yup
so its the same engine?
Same or very similar in NA form

"internals" as you call them are the same but some parts are diff.

wich parts are different crank? rods? pistons? all of the above?

part of what i said above is incorrect the turbo 300zx is engine code vg30t part that is wrong is its not minus the g its the e meaning vg30e - vg30t im sure u cought that but just incase : / thanks for the info reason im asking is if the "internals" are different theyed probly still work on my enigine and im trying to build it up for nitrous and since i got no help in my first post on the subject i made this one. would u say the vg30t's "internals would be more well suited for nitrus aplication? thanks again in advanced

I am going to be swaping a vg30e-t into my 91 manual GXE. I will be looking into putting vg30de-tt internals (crank, rods, pistons)into the vg30e-t block so I will have a 600hp potential. It is said you need to do machining on the vg30de-tt crankshaft to get it to fit into the vg30e-t block. I have heard there is no differance in the internals of a vg30e-t(z31) and a vg30e(maxima) they are made of the same steel. I heard the z31 guys run up to 350hp on stock internals. If you are going to run No2 thats just hard on the pistons. Im pretty sure the rods and crank could handle it, but you might want to get another opinion..

the only differences between the vg30et and the maxima vg30e side by side are

various sensors
intake manifold
exhaust manifold
other various electrical stuff
and pistons
a few accesories
oil pump setup
valve covers

basically, the block (minus pistons) and the heads are identical.
