custom stuff

Hey i was wondering has anyone ever tried to make their own dash and/or body kit?? I was thinking about attempting it. I'd prolly get frustrated and end up blowing it up or something, but i figured i have a lot of spare time so i'd try!!!! Doesn't seem to hard. Well if anyone has tried this, lemme know how it turned out.

i kno some one on the org has but i dont know who. and to clarafy my answer its the dash i saw done have u ever worked with fiberglass b4? u might be able to make a mold of ur old dash and lay the fiberglass into and at least get the right shape : / (and by dash i think u mean the insert in the dash that houses the clock/radio/cupholder right?) and as for custom fb i think they had a group deal on the custom r34/r33 front end <i cant remem wich it was> check the gd section might be up again hope that helped even a lil bit

i'll be doing a custom front bumper setup more or less. have to stuff an intercooler in there and make it look good at the same time. but yeah, the two links above are some nice examples of custom interior and exterior mods.

i also want to do a custom dash setup but that'll be in the Z first. i'll do the maxima's dash later. oh yeah... and they will be of carbon fiber

do it for yourself because no 3rd gen on the org really steps up to the plate to buy custom made stuff due to price. ask anyone who has sold something in quantities on the org, it always takes forever to get rid of it.

there are exceptions to the rule, but there have been numerous body kit attempts and even a custom A pilar pod. remember?

heh.. yeah.. took me over a year to sell 15 Fidanza flywheels at $350 a piece... Good luck finding them anywhere less than $400 each unless they're taking a hit on them.
ahh well. look at who owns these cars now. you've got middle aged men/women, poor college kids, poor kids just out of college, and a bunch of high school punks with a Max as their first car.
not too many of those groups have the money to throw down several thousand in mods.

yeah, you can keep dreaming. Like Juan and Matt said, there just isn't a market for mods on the 3rd gen. Not enough people here have the money for it. If they did, they would probably be driving a car a lot newer and easier to mod. There are just a few dozen of us that have hundreds of dollars in mods on our cars and most of those are engine/suspension mods.
