Digital Climate Control lighting???

ok today my digital climate control lights don't turn on anymore. it still functions properly by throwing cold A/C but the lights on the little black screen don't turn on anymore. could this be the bulbs that burnt out or is it something else??? if it is the bulbs what size are they so that i can go buy replacements???

thanks in advance,
Rick

there is no bulb that illiminates the digital display on the climate control. bad solder joints could make the LED display not light up. take it apart and retouch all the solder joints to fix it...

i gotta do that sometime too. but i couldn't figure out how to get that circuit board out of the enclosure without cutting some of them ribbon cables.

The only bulbs are the ones that light up the buttons. There are 4 bulbs that light up the buttons (the radio shack micro bulbs) and 2 that are on the fresh air vent (light up the little simbols).

if the display went out then its the display or solder joints that go to them. The display is not back lit by an external light.

NEVER

I just run into problem after problem and never really have time to work on it.

I am a lot closer than I was a week ago though.

That looks like some good tips on the display, and someone mentioned lights for the buttons, can anyone point me in the right place to get these (radio shack?), in canada radio shack sucks when it comes to getting stuff like this, i saw a how-to on converting driver side switches to led's, could this work on the acc as well. Thanks

it's definitely an issue with the joints on the display unit. I've fixed several of them now. the numbers in the display use the same type of vacuum fluorescent display (VFD) that the clock does- and you've seen all the problems with clocks not working. it's the same with the digital dash as well. just a few solder joints fail on the thing and causes the display to stop working.
