Finally fixed my injector problem.

So I finally pulled the intake off for like the 5th time in the last 2 weeks. Before that, I isolated my misfire to the passenger side rear corner, which I thought was where I had installed my only "new" injector. Sure enough, that's where the reman one was that I bought a few weeks ago. Changed it with a spare used one I bought off eBay a while back, and Bingo- no more problems.

So, just in case you all haven't been listening to Internetautomart about reman injectors (and he tries to save us all from ourselves constantly.. ) listen to me- they're not worth it...

So is the lesson here to buy brand new injectors, and not reman or rebuilt ones?

they are, but they fail a bit later. so the testing is pointless.
Mafs I haven't seen anywhere near the defect rate that I have on our injectors, so I'd use rebuilt maf with no problem

I picked up some used injectors on EBAY that spec out fine for my 94 SE. The injector has a plastic cap with 4 prongs that hold the lower 0-ring in place. But on a couple of the injectors the cap is cracked. Any idea where I can get new caps? I read somewhere that someone makes a seal kit that includes new caps. If not I may try a little JB-weld as the cap does not seem to perform much function. I want to replace the O-rings on each injector. What is the best way to remove the O-ring without cracking the plastic cap?

I replaced one of my injectors on my VG today for the first time and it wasnt too bad. I took about an 1 1/2 hours but after reading all the posts about how difficult it is to change I thought it would be much harder. I put in a rebuilt injector from directauto.com because it was so much cheaper than a new one. It was $35 after you get back your $12 core charge and it comes with a lifetime warranty. So far so good but for that price I can replace all my injectors for the price of two new ones. Also my gaskets were still good so all it cost was $35.

I guess if it craps out on me tom then I will change my mind about rebuilt ones but hopefully that wont happen.
