cool.

you need to to tell your photographer to do more photos with a lower shutter speed, panning the car, like in photo #17.

I wish I had a track to go take pics for people.

heh.. I wish I could.. I had to buy these from the goober in the trailer at the track.. cost me a pretty penny for 18 pics, but it was worth it... I see some of the handling problems on my car that I didn't realize I had (too much body lean for one)

Muffler is a Magnaflow.. 2.25" inlet, 4" tip.. little big, but it was all I could find in the quality and price range I was looking for. running a Greddy catback w/ magnaflow 2.5" resonator and that muffler.

Windows are required to be down because of safety reasons. If you flip your car, they won't be able to get the doors open, and then they have to break the windows in order to get you out, if they're not shattered already. last thing I want is to be dragged through a pile of broken glass. (ouch!!)

Paul.... Photochop! I finally found some red Krylon that matches (or close enough) and sprayed it on, but those pics were all fixed w/ photoshop.

Chad, those wheel are 5Zigen FN01R-C... my track wheels:
http://mattblehm.com/pics/car/wheels/track_wheels/
17x8, 14.7lb each. With tire, they weigh 38lb per corner. shaves 18lb per corner off my street wheels and tires

You know, there is this dude that sells a parallel link kit that would probably lower your lap times considerably....

Speaking of which... did you read the 2nd half of my 1st email to you?

Judging from pic 14 I'm not sure how much it'd help, but I'd just like to know what you think.

hey chris read through the posts before you ask questions ? Quote from Matt Windows are required to be down because of safety reasons. If you flip your car, they won't be able to get the doors open, and then they have to break the windows in order to get you out, if they're not shattered already. last thing I want is to be dragged through a pile of broken glass. (ouch!!)
its all time trials so you race against others times but not directly with them on the track? The start you from a start and let you out one by one but there is more than one car on the track at a time. Ive seen a lot of crazy cars from vipers to m3 to amazing corvettes old school datsons anything and everything.

Now a ? for matt How do you do in the street modifided class?

Your question about the windows has been answered in this thread. I suggest you read the whole thread before posting so you can avoid looking like an imbecile.

MadMax.. Ride, maybe. Drive, HELL NO. (I don't even let my dad drive this car!)

Umm, more info... the stuff I'm doing is just basically lapping.. you're not technically racing out there, but of course we all keep time and race each other on paper. it's also fun to reel in other cars.. passing is only allowed on the straights with a point-by from the driver in front so they KNOW you're coming around them. so it's not like it can be truely called racing.. but it's still the most fun I've had with my clothes on! (and yes, I've done bungee jumping and other stupid sports.. this costs much less and lasts much longer).

other cars out there that day?. mostly Zs of all years- it was a Z club event that I went to. Many Porsches, Miatae, several M3s, a badass Supra, and a few other cars.
I've been to some other events where I'm out there with Ferraris, a Lambo, tons of Bimmers and Porcshes, etc etc. depends on which club I'm with that day.
and yes, I pass many of them. depends on the driver in the other car.. I've passed lots of $$$$$ cars (Ferraris and M3, M5, etc), only to be passed up later by the same car with an instructor driving. they have a lot more capability than the Maxima, but it's the driver that makes the difference.

Stree modified class.... my only goal is "don't get dead last!".. my local Auto X competition in SM consists of three VERY modified M3s, a Supercharged Cobra, and usually a modified EVO or STi or two. so I'm definitely outclassed out there, but I still hold my own.

holy crap!
- that sounds like so much fun, passing M3's in a maxima, great!
theres a park in Staten Island, where i live, that has a road that runs though it. It's only open on weekdays. but its alot of fun to push my max into corners and take the racing line though the whole thing, thats about as close as i get to track racing.

And reasons like that are why I go to the track. doing it on the street is stupid and endangers everyone around you, not just yourself.. if you want to drive fast, do it on the track.

i dont really care to drive it...okay maybe i do but i totally understand not letting anyone else drive it. the only people i allow to drive mine are those who are respectful and have the same trust in me(my buddy with a turbo 240sx, another with an '00 A4 1.8T w/lots of mods and julio). my dad used to ask for my keys to move my car out of his way and i'd always tell him no...
