speed sensor

speed sensor

ok so yesterday i got yet another speeding ticket due to my speedometer not woriking right becuase of a bad speed sensor. so my question is do any of you know a cheep place to get the sensor beisdes a dealer or mechanic?... when i got it checked out they said the part was 150 bucks plus 50 to install it yet ive seen speed sensors online for 4th gen maximas for like 20 bucks

Try to fix it yourself. When my speed sensor was not working, i took it out and fixed it myself. If the your speed sensor is not working because of the same reason as mines, then you can easily fix it yourself. If you know where it is and know how it looks like, then first take a look at it and see if the rubber top is not sitting flush into the metal base. THe black rubber top is like a cork and is supposed to be pushed in so that the top of the rubber is at the same level as the brim of the metal housing. (so its like a cork plugged into a wine bottle all the way so that the cork right at the brim of the bottle.)

150 bucks is wayy too much for this part and 50 bucks for installation is WAYY tooo much as well.
