92se lacks power

92se lacks power

my 92 se runs ok but not great when its cold and when its warm it runs very weak seems to lack a lot of power in the lower rpm range and a little lack of power in higher rpms, i am not exactally sure what this is but i am guessing somthing with the timing but i can use all the help i can get

sounds like a bad knock sensor...if it has over 100k miles on it replace it

My vtc selonoids were the cause of my heat soak problem.I grounded mine{to broke to fix them } I also did the 470k resistor mod on the ks. If you do these this you need to use 93 octane. otherwise it will clack like a cummins diesel.

It wasn't your VTCs, it was the KS you bypassed with the resistor mod...

This is not the greatest idea. Loosing a little power is a lot worse than loosing your engine.

You both need to replace the KS and the KS subharness. Parts are around $150 shipped (from Courtesy Nissan) They were cheaper than the two dealers I called near me.

I disagree because i did the resistor mod first, did not help. Then i grounded the vtc's whoa! what a difference. I grounded them a year and a half ago and 60,000 miles later and the engine is just fine. so if grounding them causes damage to the engine i think the thing would blown up a long time ago. I would prefer to fix them but i do not have the$$$$ to do it.
