Opinion on yellow foglight bulbs in stock housing

I have been thinking about changing my foglights from "hyperwhite" to yellow.

The hyperwhite matches my headlights (both are XD5 stock wattage bulbs), but they aren't really that great, since they are pretty low wattage and the stock housings aren't that great.

I have yellow bulbs in the stock fogs on my Infiniti and I like it. I think yellow gives off a light that is easier to see in foggy/rainy/snowy weather.

This is just an opinion poll.

Also, if anyone else with a 3rd gen has changed over to yellow, tell me what you think of the look and the lighting difference, also what bulbs you have.

I have the yellow fogs in my cefiro projectors wired up on a toggle, and i love em, they arent yellow bulbs though, its a yellow cover to go over the bulb, very jdm, but i love the yellow, very nice in rain and stuff. I say go for it!

My fogs shine kind of a yellowish purplish light on the pavement because the glass housing inside is colored that way and I like it. I'd perfer mine over the other type of light......but mine aren't extremely yellow though

When I finally get around to putting in my projectors and converting everything to LEDs (I'm getting there..), I plan on buying H3 PIAA Ion Crystal (yellow) bulbs and using them in the stock housing...yellow rules! I also believe that d-sta has some yellow fogs, I'd like to see some whole body shots with the fogs on (preferably with e36s, too)

I would love to change my driving lights to fog lights, but just changing the bulbs won't do it. Fog lights have a much (much) wider dispersion due to a different lens refraction. Simply going with a yellow bulb behind a driving light lens will just yield less light, although it will have the look (not function) of a fog light.

Yellow foglights > * especially with HID headlights. I loved the look and performance.

I had yellow driving lights in this pic, but it looked even better when I switched to yellow fogs. The beam pattern matched the headlights better. Imagine a duplicate beam right before the HID that was the same shape and size only yellow. Awesome.

That HID kit will be converted to H3 and used in my Supra's foglights, so it lives on.

edit: oh yeah, you can see the way driving lights project in my middle sig pic.

i had an idea of putting a small fog light kit inside the headlight unit, but never found light kit that i liked and would work, anyways i have "white" fog lights, 50watt h3 bulb (just like stock, i think). the lens is blue (rice) but it just makes the clear bulb project white. great lighting, much better then stock.
- id stick with the white but maybe look for a whole new foglight kit, but the yellow does look good.

go yellow, it looks awesome. Its really the only thing I like about the trans ams, camaros and corvettes around here....it pierces through fog and things much better than white
