Update on my turbo MAX project

Not a whole lot has changed just a lot of parts. So far I got the old engine and the AT trans out of the car. Removing all of the old A/T parts (for the 5spd swap) Just need time to work on the car. Here is the parts I have JDM vg30et new t3/t04b Vtrim turbo to replace the t25. Apexi AVC-R for boost, Apexi rev/speed meter (got it for a good price) Fidanza flywheel, Spec stage 2 clutch, GFB stealth bov, after market intercooler, Walbro 255 fuel pump, BMW e36 headlights.
Now for what I still need to order. 370cc or 550cc injectors I am leaning towards 550cc or 555cc still undecided, and of course the JWT ECU I was going to go ahead and send JWT my ECU but I still need to figure what injector to go with. Also a fuel presser regulator. I think I covered it all.

you mean T28 turbo right?
555? do you realize how much power you need to be making to need 555cc injectors?

like matt said...i have a huge pile of parts too...dropping names don't mean jack around here...show us some pics of the stuff on the ride.

Well, if you at least SHOW you have the parts, that'll be a start...

(there's more I want to say, along this thread, but mom always told me if I don't have anything nice to say, then don't say nothing)

It was going to be a cheap driver car was 300.00 cause it need a trans (of course gotta love the A/T) so for the price I thought I could just do a 5spd swap and still be ahead. Then I was offered a good price for the JDM VG30ET after that the CHEAP drive has gone out the window. Plus I thought it would be fun to have a turbo maxima.

Super charging is soooo "old school". Just add a fartcan exhaust, supa-dupa shopping cart-style wing, every known manufacturer's sticker you can lay your grubby little paws on, and that'll give you ALL the FI you need in life!! Just ask Shawnie-poo!

If that is a 300zx turbo engine then the injectors can come later . JWT is also optional. You can just get and external FMU. Turbo piping. Must I say anymore. Exhaust (see turbo piping). Like internetautomar said. You got the main component but you don't have the little guys that run the show (hypothetically)

let's see...
flanges
misc hardware
silicone couplers
hose clamps
lots-o-welding
gaskets/wp/t-belt-tensioner/etc etc...

the list goes on and on. it's the small details that will kill you.

like i said...you have a long way to go. if you don't believe me then go ahead and start installing everything. this is what usually happens....guys stock pile parts but don't have the funds to finish or don't have enough skills to finish....then they just sell off parts and call it the day. care to put a completition date to this project?

fmu isn't needed. a rising rate fpr is more than ok. an fmu is just a good way to push the injectors to their limits very fast.

it's not a 300ZX engine. it's a VG30ET JDM cedric motor. those injectors are not going to last with higher boost.

yeah I agree I had to get alot of little thing I did not account for. A matter fact about $150 In thing I did not account for like hardware I did all my on welding except the oil pan tap and the ehaust. But it can be done everyone on here things oh god a turbo its so hard. If you want something bad enough you can do it. I did mine for the t3 300zx turbo and once all done to find out I put the turbo back to gether wrong and did not get it balanced and blew it instanly. Then got the ct26 and had to change all the flanges, and get the oil pan tap in another place. Had to run water lines for the ct were the other was just oil cooled. It took a couple of extra days to just change that. But I got a lot of help from Mtcookson. He is a realy good guy. If you need any help at all just let me know I will be more than happy to help you out in anyway I can, Also Im pertty sure Mark could help you also. Good luck It can be done.

oook well its a blast very good turbo works well with our motor make full boost in 1st by 2800 rpm and starts making at 2300. As i have seen so far it has held full boost to like 5200 I havent been no further than that yet.

Yeah, WTF is wrong with the CT26? It spools superquick (10psi by 3500) and makes 15psi solidly.
I have one (duh) in my supra and not a complaint about it. Lasted a good 300K miles too.

Silverline...you're the one posting on supraforums arent you?

I'm not positive what kind of data you're looking for, but this is a fairly informative thread comparing some plots of stock vs upgraded CT turbos, and Volumetric Efficiencies: http://supraforums.com/forum/showthr...Compressor+Map

If people didn't know, the engine in discussion there is the Toyota 7MGTE 3.0 Straight 6 Turbo found in the US Supra MK3 and the Soarer in Japan.

FWIW I will be getting the "57 trim" upgrade discussed there for my supra in a few weeks.
