new winter oil?

just got back from a 1,000mile road trip. got about 27mpg on the highway avg speed 77mph. Today I just did an oil change and saw a new castrol gtx 5w20.....haven't seen it at my parts store before, was wondering if 5w20 is a good viscosity for winter time with avg temps of 32-55?, snows like 2x a year in the winter, doesn't get much colder than below 25 here unless its early morning in middle of winter. if not, anyone recommend a good winter oil for the ve? Thanks

I'd stick with 5w-30, maybe get 0w-30 if you really want. I live 1000 miles north and I use Mobil 1 5W-30 in the wintertime. a 20W oil is too thin when warm to properly lubricate this engine.
