Can a 3rd gen VG owner...

...get me a close up pick of the distributor, and the wire harness for the Crank Angle Sensor? Mine died again, and someone I know has a 3rd gen distributor available, but I need to see what is different.

Many thanks,

S

Yup they do under the distributor. The actually do 3 jobs, the tach runs off of it, injectors pulse use it, and it provides the ignition pulse/signal for the igntion coil.

so that's probably why you need the tach adapter when using the msd ignition unit. they're running everything off the same system... that's what msd was trying to say in their manual and now i understand why.
